North Korea's Kim agrees to inspections in bid to salvage nuclear talks.....

North Korea said on Wednesday it would permanently abolish its key missile facilities in the presence of foreign experts, in a new gesture by leader Kim Jong Un to revive faltering talks with Washington over his country’s nuclear program.

After a summit in Pyongyang, Kim and South Korean President Moon Jae-in said the North was also willing to close its main nuclear complex but only if the United States took unspecified reciprocal action.

Speaking at a joint news conference in Pyongyang, the two Korean leaders agreed to turn the Korean peninsula into a “land of peace without nuclear weapons and nuclear threats.”

Kim said he would visit Seoul in the near future, in what would be the first-ever visit to South Korean capital by a North Korean leader. Moon said the visit was expected to take place by the end of the year. …..snip~

That's because it's not a huge concession. North Korea has already manufactured ICBM's and nuclear warheads. Therefore, dismantling the Tongchang-ri missile testing site, a process which began back in July, is largely moot as far as North Korea's nuclear weapons program is concerned. The only new development is that North Korea will allow foreign observers to inspect the site as it is decommissioned, but everyone already knew it was being dismantled and decommissioned because of satellite imagery. Allowing foreign observers to inspect the process is largely symbolic. Nonetheless, it is an important gesture. It shows that North Korea is genuine in its desire to continue the peace talks. But because their negotiating partner lacks even the slightest bit of sophistication or depth, they have to entice him with shiny objects that he can flaunt on his Twitter feed, causing his similarly unsophisticated and shallow base to run around boasting about a HUGE concession that the mean old media refuses to give Trump credit for.

What trump is doing is better than Ignoring kim for 8 yrs while he tested and set off nuke after nuke.

Trump is and that is why Moon is doing all negotiating. Plus its what Trump wants to see.....the Koreans, North and South solving the problem basically on their own. When the deal is ready to be closed, Trump will show up to close the deal.

If Lil Kim breaks his word with S Korea and what they put out for the Worldwide Press. Then all optics will see who was playing a game and the consequences is all on N Korea.
