Well, that's not exactly accurate. It's a company offering discounts to those who participate and who they deem a lower risk.

Creative way to better evaluate and manage risk. Kudos to JH for a creative but uncomfortable way.

I agree. All this is reported to my doctor who I gave permission to share with insurance. What's monitored will depend on diet, exercise, medications, etc so it checks you're following. And it evaluates the doctor.

Let's turn this around. I see a lot of liberals saying it's not unconstitutional as you're not required to get insurance at JH. Are gays required by the government to purchase wedding cakes at bakers who object and refuse? Will you change your tune under single payer?

I think that encouraging this, which is what John Han$#@! did (they aren't forcing anyone), is actually a good idea. Insurance companies should adopt this as an option to reduce your premiums. This would give some people a break on what they end up paying.

    I really don't see how it's comparable.

No one is required to buy cakes at a bakers. They can go to other bakers. They can choose not to buy cake.

    Probably because there isn't one.

In one case you have a public accommodation and the argument that they should serve all people regardless of their race, faith or sexual orientation. On the other you have a voluntary program designed to assess people's behaviour and offer them discounts based on said assessment.
