    Leaving the Left

Lots of thinkers I'm familiar with were once on the left: Mises, Hayek, Hoppe, Williams, Sowell, the list goes on and on. What happened to them? As Dave Rubin says, they woke up.

The interview starts with him confronted by Larry Elder on systemic racism in police shootings of blacks.... He realized the myth the people accused by the left of racism was a false narrative. Of course he lost friends on the left because, as he says, you disagree with the left then your thought to be evil.

In fairness there are those that are leaving the right. People arent locked into anything and changes in life and experience tend to change their views.

Young people notoriously start out liberal after being indoctrinated in public education and change later on in life.

Do you have some examples? I'd be interested in hearing who has left the right...for reasons other than Trump who is a populist and not a righty. Just curious who and why.

Actually I cant remember names, there was a congressman who switched from republican to democrat while in office Jefferson keeps popping in my head, it was during the GWBush years.

You have a senator today who is more left than right and says he often thinks of switching parties. Again me and names, Ben Sasse. Bloomberg switched from Republican to democrat, theres more chris but they werent lately and I dont remember

Jeffords? Yea, people switch parties but I don't see a close link between parties and ideology left and right. I think party switchers don't change their views but just find the party better suited to them.

Or to who they think will keep them in power.
When Donald Trump said to protest “peacefully”, he meant violence.

When he told protesters to “go home”, he meant stay for an insurrection.

And when he told Brad Raffensperger to implement “whatever the correct legal remedy is”, he meant fraud.

    War is peace.

    Freedom is slavery.

    Ignorance is strength.

With politicians, it's almost always about power.
