Body Camera Video Reveals Incident Topeka Police Are Being Sued Over

A body camera recording obtained by The Topeka Capital-Journal shows the encounter between a Topeka police officer and a man that has led to a federal lawsuit.
“The video speaks for itself,” Civil rights attorney Andrew M. Stroth said. “Timothy Harris was unjustifiably and unconstitutionally beaten by Topeka police officer Christopher Janes. The city of Topeka is responsible for the pattern, practice and custom of excessive force used by the TPD.”

The subject literally defied every instruction the officer gave him. That usually means serious trouble or a violent attack is eminent. The officer was justified. The perp will lose in court, and thereafter, he should be countersued for all costs incurred by the city to put up with his BS.
