No, no it isn't. It doesn't happen right away but the money does run out after a month and then the shutdowns start. The military stays on the job; Social Security and Medicare are trusts and have to be paid.

As the departments run out of money, and they will, they have to shutdown or the employees have to work with only the promise they will be paid--sometime. They are voters too; they have family and friends that vote.

Yes, if a President is willing to take the heat it does work. Clinton did it for three weeks and beat the republicans. One more week and he would have shutdown agencies that would have hurt.

It doesn't seem as if Trump is going to take the heat. He has a last chance on Dec 8.
