I'm so sorry, I got you mixed up with someone else.

I do that a lot lately, perhaps I need a break.

I'd bet there are a lot of guys and gals who claim they aren't virgins just to avoid the BS. I think a lot of guys may exaggerate just a bit on how old they were when they first had sex, with a girl , when reminiscing with pals.

Jokes aside this isn’t meant to be about Kavanaugh but over the last couple of days there’s been some talk about his comments about how he was a virgin in high school and for years beyond and a lot of the comments about that admission have seemed, to me atleast, mocking or doubtful. It just made me think about the stigma that is often attached to being a virgin. Even Kavanagh didn’t actually say he as a virgin he said that he hadnt had sexual relationships during that time, or something to that extent, in which the reporter point out that he was a virgin and then he agreed, almost like it was shameful to say the word.

In our culture if a teenage and college age male is a virgin then he isn’t masculine enough and should turn in his man card and if a female of high school or college is a virgin then she is a good girl, or a prude, but at least she isn’t a $#@!. Of course after college if you’re still a virgin then every year after that it feels like it becomes more of a guarded secret and point of embarrassment. I guess my question is why? Why is that something to be ashamed of and why is that something to mock or doubt?

I know this isn’t a well structured rant but it was just on my mind. I’m 24 and a virgin. I don’t see anything wrong with that or something to be ashamed of.

People like to take others down and anything will do. Sorry , it's not a deeper answer, but we are not a deep society. I had my doubts but didn't think him "unmannly" . My doubts are based on a different bias . Namely that rich prep school kids drink, drug and have sex even more than other teens do. No proof, well maybe 151 ( LOL) just my own bias.

I think a lot of people project their own weaknesses on other people who actually have the self control to be careful about having sex, smoking cigarettes or trying dope. They are not the "$#@!'s" or prudes. They are the ones who do it right and most of them go on to have less troubled lives. Many of them get those traits from their parents who instilled some values into them.

    Nervous? lol

To your point though, all of this stuff is a personal decision and really not a matter for public consideration, unless of course if you're a SCOTUS nominee and potentially being blackballed which to be honest, I'm totally against creeps and all for due process but I have a hard time buying it in this case.

That's my opinion however, I'm sure not shared by some but I'm skeptical.
All that aside, that men are still virgins in their 20's, I'm not sure it's so much a stigma or whatever nowadays but it will always be a source of jokes because society still thrives on that. That it's rejected, I'm not sure that's the case.

Women are different, like it or not you guys are and I'm probably a bit separated from culture in the case of women virgins in their 20's but being kind of old school I think it's a virtue - which is probably a term not often used anymore.

Much like how I at one point thought a tattoo on a woman was kind of cute, sexy and lately I think women without a tattoo is hotter since women tend to have tattoos anymore. It's like being different by not conforming to what is the new norm.
