    Man Bites Dog

The wackiest story I've seen in some time, excluding what comes out of Washington DC of course.

Man Bites Dog, Pleads Guilty To Felony Rap

A Florida man who admitted biting his dog to “establish dominance” over the animal has pleaded guilty to a felony charge, but has avoided prison time in connection with the bizarre incident, according to court records.

Patrick Shurod Campbell, 27, pleaded guilty Friday to an animal cruelty charge and was sentenced to four years probation by a Palm Beach county judge. Campbell was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation and has been barred from possessing “animals of any kind” or “living with anyone with animals on property.”

...Officers found the dog inside a closet in Campbell’s room, where blood was smeared on the carpet and a recliner. The animal, cops noted, was shaking and had a bloody ear.

Asked how Dimitri was injured, Campbell replied, “I bit him to establish dominance.” Campbell then told police that he sought to discipline the dog after the animal “destroyed several items inside the apartment.” In addition to biting “Dimitri in the right ear very hard to establish dominance,” Campbell, seen at left, admitted punching the dog in the face....

My Gemma, who turned 6 on Thursday, chewed up a lot of stuff when she was a puppy. It did create some tension with the wife, whose dog hadn't done that. So I bought her a book that was supposed to be poems written by dogs, called 'I Could Chew On This'.

Unfortunately, she left it where Gemma could get ahold of it while we were at work, and well... Thank goodness for Amazon's next-day delivery.

Between buying her lots of things she was allowed to chew on, stern admonishments and time - and temporarily puppy-proofing certain parts of the house - we all got through it with anyone getting bitten or going to jail. The guy in the OP sounds like an idiot.

This absolutely infuriates me. I cannot abide by animal abuse and cruelty. Animals are like children. They love us unconditionally and look to us to take care of them. This man betrayed his pet. I don't think he should be able to have a pet ever again. I'd also nip certain things in the bud so he couldn't pass on his warped genes.

People like that should not only not be allowed to own animals, they should never be allowed to be around children. Whatever sick impulse in their minds causes them to brutalize animals would also cause them to brutalize children - in order to establish dominance ...

Yep biting a dog in training is a method used ~ but biting and drawing blood ~ inflicting a wound ~ kinda out of the question ```

I bit our dog once ~ when I was 3 or 4 ~ her nose looked like candy ~ I held its ears and bit ~ and she bit me right back in the area of the left eye ~ had the scars for years ~ poor dog ~ folks got rid of her for that ```

That's because we love our pets. They're part of our families.
