    Charred Carrot Soup

    Basically this recipe: https://food52.com/recipes/77822-mis...ed-carrot-soup

Here's what I did with it. Our local markets don't carry a lot of what I would like for variety, so if you can't find Miso paste and don't want to order it,just pick up a couple of packets of white or red miso soup mix for cheap substitutions.

I also roasted some garlic cloves, fresh ginger and added a pinch of Chinese 5 Spice.

This is a wonderful Autumn soup!

I don't what it is but I just can't get into Fall flavors whether we're talking about food or beverages like beer. I do appreciate members posting their soup recipes though. I'm a soup man. I eat soup year round.

Once it starts getting cooler out I will be making lots of soups. I have several beef bones just waiting.

My pepper plants delivered a huge amount of fruit for one person. I already froze as much as I could possibly use over the Winter for soups and chili but I will still have give a lot away. There must be at least 30 peppers remaining in the garden and they're still growing. I learned my lesson. I have to take a more practical approach to gardening next year. I mean if you're not making hot sauce what could you possibly do with 40 habaneros? Still, for the kinds of soups I typically make (spicy bean soups) I have a supply of organic chilis to last me the Winter.

    It really is.

Probably not going to be a kid's soup, but what do kids know anyway?

My friend at work is making what he calls a pepper jam. I have a jar coming. After all, he is using my peppers!

It just didn't sound right at first. I'm thinking this is for toast? lol It's more like a glaze for chicken etc.
