    I'm thinking roasted red peppers, roast chicken, sharp cheese, a little basil and pepper jam on a ciabatta bun done in a panini press.

    I don't think I did anything wrong.

    The carrots and celery were charred, not too much. I used milk instead of water because... water.

    I never used miso in cooking and it had a funky taste. I had my son try it before I used it. My thought was that it was a salt bomb but I wound up adding more salt (and pepper although it wasn't part of the recipe) but it had an odd aftertaste, like pineapple. My son said I was full of $#@! but after a minute he said yeah... I see now.

    The miso I don't think added anything weird to the soup but it didn't have punch like I thought it would, kind of bland.

    You could probably use chicken stock, increase the aromatic spices a tad and add a touch of something acidic. No milk.
