Sounds like a good idea if you want to spend time in places where you can't plug in. From what I gather, good storage batteries that are compatible with your solar panels are key as well as keeping open the option to plug in if you end up with a spate of bad weather.Originally Posted by Tahuyaman

I've seen them at campgrounds but I've never used them, except for a small phone recharger thingy I have and it works ok.
I can't imagine the RV/Camper variety is great, RV's use a lot of electricity and if you're wanting to do more than charge your phones and devices you're better off with a generator at least to recharge your RV battery.

I do have two 2k Honda generators which I can connect in parallel. I just think it would be nice to have a way to keep my house battery charged on those occasions we are dry camping and don't want the noise of a gererator in the background.
