    Confirmation bias much there, Polly?
It's a fact that females are two to four times as likely as males to attempt suicide. Data showing this. And here's more data. And here's still more. Just as examples illustrating my point on that.

But let's get more specific to the group the OP is discussing: this is also true specifically among not just women overall, but also, and in a more pronounced way, among girls, including American girls.

And yes, the rate of depression is also much higher among American girls specifically than it is among their male counterparts (about 2.5 times as high, specifically), and is rising faster as well.

    First link doesn't say that:

The second link says much more:

The third link says nothing about it.

So no they do not illustrate your point.

First of all, you replied before I finished editing, so I have more data links in my last post now than when you responded. Secondly, you're not exactly quoting (or necessarily reading, IMO) the material in its entirety. All the linked references contain pertinent information.

The fourth link doesn't support your argument either:

Tishler noted that previous studies from the CDC have indicated that males take their own lives at nearly four times the rate of females and thus represent 77.9% of all suicides. Yet females are more likely than males to have suicidal thoughts.
    The fifth link doesn't either:

Why is depression increasing faster among adolescent girls than boys? More research is needed to find a definitive answer, Olfson said.

"While it is not possible to determine the reasons for this difference, cyberbullying may play a role. Negative texting experiences appear to be more common in girls than boys and have been linked to depressed mood," he said.

...Additionally, adolescent girls may face more interpersonal stress -- such as the stress of fighting with a family member or friend -- than boys, putting them at a greater risk of depression, according to separate research published in the journal Clinical Psychological Science in 2014.

One, when reading scientific literature pay attention to the little words like might and may and could.

Two, pay attention to phrases like "More research is needed to find a definitive answer" and "it is not possible to determine the reasons".

Three, when faced with mixed results, as seen in this thread, you can't just cherry pick the ones conducive to your conclusion. Use words like might and could and perhaps and some.

Okay, I'm done trying to communicate with you on this subject, Chris. You are a dedicated denialist of all information presented to you that could possibly contradict your predetermined opinion.

I read about this but its not just UK girls, it was German women and swiss and others included.

American women seem to have it much better for now, but rapes by illegal immigrants are on the rise here and thats an everyday occurance in those european countries.

Which brings up another point, if an illegal immigrant rapes an american woman can hardly find it in the news, no liberal women protest go up in arms.

Let a white american male touch a womans behind and its front page news and cause for public lynching.

You made a claim you couldn't back up is all.

But your frustration makes me the bad guy.

It ends that way with Chris, it ends that way with Chloe and it ends that way with virtually everyone. Maybe it's you?
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.
