OK niners Beatherd is your guy for the rest of the year

And yet the coach hasn't let him throw a ball over 9 yards that I've seen yet! Think the D" might press coverage up tight? Gee they already did and got a deflected INT. These coaches seem more afraid of the press saying they were too aggressive that they are of playing losing football. It's sad.

    Are you a Niners fan?
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.

There's an school of thought among 49er fans that the success they had a while back was not because of the coaching of Jim Harbaugh, but the team built by Mike Singletary. Some say that if they would have not fired Singletary, they would still be a contender today.

I think there's merit with that. Vernon Davis said that once they got on board with his discipline and style, he was bringing out the best in players. Davis said that when Singletary kicked him out of a game, it woke up a lot of people.

Mike's a football mind but not enough of a people person for the head role. They won mostly because of a tough as nails defense and Frank Gore. Kapernick made some big plays but the NFL adapted to him while he never adapted to it. Like you wanna run like that we'll play zone. If he had touch he'd of beaten the zone and been on his way, but he has no touch. He's not out of the NFL solely because of his behavior . If he were a top notch QB he'd be playing but nobody's gonna take on his baggage for a back up/gadget guy.

As far as this year goes they have been riddled with key injuries in the middle of a rebuild. But my original point is if Bethard is your guy for now let him play. Too many check downs leads to check downs not working.

Bethard probably isn’t ready to execute their entire playbook.

I think you are wrong about Singletary.

That was not a insult to Singletary . But IMO, the dude is too intense for modern head coaching role, dealing with pampered players, super rich owners, milionarre sportscasters, constant media scrutiny and other high end coordinators as well as teaching football.

He's a throwback, a real football player. But if he was meant to be a head guy he'd of landed as one somewhere else.

Also Bethard played last year and the week before he threw for almost 300 yards. So if I think he knows the playbook. And I doubt he accumulated 298 yards with dink and dunks so I don't get the over conservatism. Maybe now that they have no reason to simply "play not to lose" Shanahahn will turn it loose a bit.

If he was ready to take on more of the playbook, they’d go in that direction.

He played a lot last year and as I said threw for almost 300 yards the week before. I don't think the play book is the problem. I think extreme over conservatism is.
