Wealth in America: Where are the richest and poorest states based on household income

Not really an article but rather a list of the states based on wealth measured by household income. It starts at 50 and goes from there. Interesting comments about each state.

Yea, works. TX is 23rd. Surprised since our economy is doing well. But we have some of the richest and poorest. TX has everything.

Interesting. We need to remember that great differences can occur within a state.

We're 2 and 24 does that make us 13? LOL

Off topic, anyone ever see the Movie 436? 13 ain't too lucky. Weird movie.

"We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively exceeds the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here." Richard Dawkins

South Carolina is a poor state but not as bad as rated. We have very low property taxes. We ave a very low, progressive state income tax. We don't have any local income tax.

I have lived better here than I did in the North on less money.

NJ lost out to MD again for the top spot.

Yes, like in VA. Most of the wealth is in northern Virginia.
