How about if we tried to tone things down with Russia a bit? There is no real world reason at this point for us to be in such a confrontation with them that war would result. Now it was on the high side of stupid to allow the Baltics into NATO.. but now that it is done we need to be careful about what we put there in the way of forces.

The US is rotating small numbers of troops in and out and has air force power provide air patrols. Not sure what forces other NATO nations are providing.
