MythBusters proved that that doesn't work. They tried it with a pig carcass in a bathtub and made a gargantuan mess. But the pig didn't dissolve.

It's a myth from that popular TV show "Breaking Bad" that you apparently watch too much.

Not sure if anyone here is following this. Saudi dissident / journalist Jamal Khashoggi entered the Saudi embassy in Istanbul and never came out- alive that is. What happened?

Dude. Should of stayed married! It didn't mean you had to live with her. But yup those Saudis are our buddies. They are little different from those we target for "human rights violations" except that they helped the west rape the ME and have a lot of dirt on several admins.
Usually collaborators are more hated than the actual foreign aggressor. So if we just withdraw support, including of course weapons sales, I'm thinking the Saudis might become targets. Maybe the guy who ordered this will face the same treatment someday?

It was probably the Crown Prince that ordered it. He is making a lot of good changes in Saudi Arabia, like letting women drive and expanding the economy beyond oil. But he can't stand dissidents.

    Update:

    Khashoggi was killed, Turks say

The Turkish government has told U.S. officials that it has audio and video recordings that prove Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul this month, according to U.S. and Turkish officials.

The recordings show that a Saudi security team detained Khashoggi in the consulate after he walked in on Oct. 2 to obtain an official document before his upcoming wedding, then killed him and dismembered his body, the officials said.

The audio recording in particular provides some of the most persuasive and gruesome evidence that the Saudi team is responsible for Khashoggi's death, the officials said.

"The voice recording from inside the embassy lays out what happened to Jamal after he entered," said one person with knowledge of the recording who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss highly sensitive intelligence.

"You can hear his voice and the voices of men speaking Arabic," this person said. "You can hear how he was interrogated, tortured and then murdered."
A second person briefed on the recording said men could be heard beating Khashoggi.
Does Turkish intel have bugs in the Saudi embassy?

Yeah the US is pissed off about it. Amy Goodman on Democracy Now first reported the story and it's been picked up and become a big thing. It should be interesting to see what "punishment" the admin has in mind; the Saudi Prince is supposed to have been the one who ordered it.

Of course he's dead. He hasn't come out and they haven't shown him. He's dead as dead gets. Trump will have to do something. We can't ignore this and be respected.

I expect the Hate American crowd to show up and yell about stopping arms sales. The Russians will sell them so that doesn't mean a thing. We will have to impose some sanctions although I don't know what.
Liberals are a clear and present danger to our nation

That's quite possible. That would put a different spin on this.
From reading the entire article, the "what" of its title would appear to refer to the journalist's Muslim Brotherhood ties...but to the author's credit, he doesn't - though I'd imagine some will - attempt to use that to justify what the Saudi government seems to have done to him. It will be interesting to see what, if anything, the Trump administration does in response.
It will probably ascertain the facts first before responding or making some inappropriate comment or guess. Like this forum normally does, no one here comments on anything unless they know all the facts.
