The author of that article is a member of The Atlantic Council, which is a front for interventionists and Israeli loyalists.
Interventionists are Trump's number one enemy, yet he has surrounded himself with people who want to intervene almost everywhere.
Trump is clearly an idiot.
I just hope he's not stupid enough to be manipulated into another disastrous war.

Most of the anti-Russian hysteria is coming from interventionists like the Atlantic Council, yet Trump continues to surround himself with people from that same interventionist milieu.
What other explanation could there be for such behavior aside from idiocy? Does Trump really not realize that people like Bolton, Pompeo, Haley et. al. have a radically different foreign policy agenda than the one he outlined during his presidential campaign? Or was Trump just being a big fat liar when he promised Americans to pull back from the endless interventions abroad?
