Well don't shoot the messenger now... start this video at 1:38 and do some google searching. You will find that you do have a FB profile, everyone does. I am just stating the facts that is all.

What shoot the messenger ?? I asked a simple nondescript question in which you told me to look up. Seems FB's shadow profiles are compiled by FB from users posting non-users personal information. Amd that's just wrong.

They also track you when ever you click a website that has Facebook script running on it. They run their own cookies on there with it. Like when you look at a news story and you see the little links below the story you will see an email symbol, a Facebook symbol and so on. When ever you go to one of these pages it is making a shadow profile on you as well. Even if you don't click on anything. Yeah it is totally jacked up. Like you said. Lets say we don't use FB but one of your friends or family does it will be making a profile on you by what they post. I have never used it so I don't even know how FB really works though.
Sorry if I offended you in any way I gave you a link and said to google it. It wasn't meant to be rude. I just thought it would be good to research it if you didn't know about it yet. I am not an expert by any means on this subject. It was just an off the cuff comment of some random knowledge. But I was happy to look it up and find you the video though.

Like I have a soft spot for spammers.
I don't have a soft spot for idiots also, who fall for spamming $#@! also and to be honest, I could care less.

They also purged a few libertarian-leaning Facebook pages that had somewhere in the neighborhood of three to four million followers or likes. I'm sure their decision to go after libertarian pages was a coincidence.
