Portland mayor stands by decision to allow Antifa to block traffic, hassle motorists

The reason you "ALLOWED" as Mayor a mob to block traffic and hassle the citizens in your city is

Because you are a Liberal Democrat $#@!. He should be charged by the state for civil disobedience and malfeasance.

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler came under fire over a viral video showing Antifa protesters blocking traffic and harassing drivers, but he says he supports the decision by police to watch from a distance without getting involved.

“I was appalled by what I saw in the video, but I support the Portland Police Bureau’s decision not to intervene,” he said at a Friday press conference. “This whole incident will be investigated.”

The video posted by journalist Andy C. Ngo showed protesters, including members of Antifa and Black Lives Matter, blocking an intersection and attempting to direct traffic at while officers on motorcycle watched from a block away.

At one point, the activists chased down 74-year-old Kent Houser after he made a right turn against their wishes, pounding on his silver Lexus and breaking a window. The car sustained thousands of dollars in damage, he told the Oregonian.

Even so, Mr. Wheeler insisted that “motorists should feel completely safe coming into downtown Portland.”

Demonstrators did not obtain a permit before holding the Oct. 6 march to protest the death of Patrick Kimmons, a 27-year-old black man who was shot and killed Sept. 30 by police. The shooting is under investigation.

The mayor has been accused of taking a kid-gloves approach to the protests that routinely roil the liberal enclave, such as the summer occupation of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement building, which saw Portland police refuse to assist unless federal officers were in physical danger.

The people of Portland should be taking to the streets to demand the resignations of both the mayor and the chief of police.

The majority in Portland support the mayor’s decision.

The mayor is insane. He is unfit for office.

This is how moron Democrats interpret states' rights. They are unfit for voting.

It's been going on. The police are standing down refusing to uphold their pledge in places where these rule. It's just not in Portland. If you watched videos of other places the cops are doing the same thing. All they have to do is have the media to claim you are white supremacist. That 74 year old was didn't you know that? The guy with bats and rocks hitting his car in VA where he lost control of his car was the same. I blame the cops for not going against these mayors. These cops are called Nazis and pigs while Antifa says the only good cop is a dead one but they still don't have the courage to stand up against these mayors.

What are these cops afraid of? The green hats that march with Antifa is recording them and begging them to do something so they can sue. Accuse them of obsessive force. The ACLU, communist party, ADL and others are sending them in to march with these. They threaten these cops on the streets, airports and other places. They want them afraid if they dare do their jobs and protect innocent people they will loose their jobs and may even have charges against them. They also know the media will back them up.
The department of justice needs to get involved and put a stop to this or it's only going to get worse.
