Mom paralyzed after being ‘catapulted’ from bed during sex

Like being paralyzed is bad enough, having a story describing that she was "kneeling in the bed performing a sex act on her partner" before the accident is kind of... sucky (sorry)

Must have been pretty durn good though.

    https://nypost.com/2018/10/16/mom-pa...&ICID=ref_fark

A woman who was left paralyzed after being “catapulted” from her super-king bed during sex is suing the bed suppliers for $1.3 million.
Claire Busby suffered a serious spinal injury after she fell from the super king-size double divan while changing positions.
The 46-year-old was kneeling in the middle of the bed performing a sex act on her partner when she decided to change positions.
Busby told the High Court in the UK that this is when the bed gave way and she fell off and landed on her head.
She said: “I spun around, I put my hand down and then I felt like I was catapulted off the back of the bed.”
“My head hit the floor, I fell to the side and then I heard like a spring in my body snap, it felt like.”

Some of these beds are like 10 feet off the floor, I never understood that.

I doubt it was defective though, it's a bed.

I doubt she could be catapulted off a trampoline, but anyway, seems the frame broke, not the bed.

Divan bed. IKEA sells them - it probably came flat packed - some assembly required. If it wasn't put together properly....

Damn IKEA, only interested in the profit, don't give a damn about the customer. They should have supplied a licensed Bed Assembler to insure the bed was properly assembled. But no, they were only interested in selling the bed and keeping the profit.

LOL. However, an awful lot of people can't seem to follow directions and end up with left over parts and things attached backwards. Yet they insist on buying flat packed furniture.

Maybe Ikea needs to market "$#@! friendly" beds.

I haven't bought anything at IKEA in about 30 years, but I think that I heard that they offer an assembly service, if you want to pay for it! Anything that is poorly assembled is going to come apart if you start stressing it, especially if you are plus sized people.
