    Video of City Commissioner Fatally Shooting Shoplifting Suspect

    He has been charged with murder. FLORIDA — (Scroll Down For Video) — Lakeland Police released surveillance video which shows a Lakeland City Commissioner fatally shooting a man who tried to steal a hatchet from his military surplus store.
    On October 4th, Police Chief Larry Giddens issued the following statement in regard to the shooting that occurred the day prior:

    I agree he made a bad decision but I want to see what happened before that caused him to pull the gun in the first place. Was it just shoplifting or did the man take the hatchet to try to hurt or rob the man before he pulled the gun.
