Media CEO Urges Drastic Steps From News Orgs To Hide Left-Wing Bias

This is just disgusting, a Media CEO urging media outlets to make their reporters "HIDE" their liberal bias. Not change their bias and be fair reporters but to just hide that they are left wing biased.

It wouldnt matter for more than half the country what they changed now, they are forever tainted and labled for what they are.

For me personally, there is absolutely nothing the media could ever do to have me trust what they say as truth just because they said it. I would have to verify it and re verify it.

Axios CEO Jim VandeHei encouraged news organizations to "ban their reporters from doing anything on social media" in order to conceal their left-wing biases which he says is hurting the media's credibility.

VandeHei said in an article on Sunday that he was asked by students at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh what needs to happen to "restore faith and trust in media."

Writing about what he thinks the media should do to regain trust from the public, VandeHei wrote:

News organizations should ban their reporters from doing anything on social media — especially Twitter — beyond sharing stories. Snark, jokes and blatant opinion are showing your hand, and it always seems to be the left one. This makes it impossible to win back the skeptics.

VandeHei does not call on news organizations to eliminate their left-wing biases in reporting, he simply wants it not to be as obvious so "the skeptics" can be won back.

Blatant left-leaning media bias extends far beyond the echo chambers on Twitter as studies have found that the media's coverage of President Donald Trump has been overwhelmingly negative, with ABC News, CBS News, and NBC News giving the president 92% negative coverage.

A Harvard study from last year found that networks like CNN have given the president 97% negative coverage.

VandeHei added that politicians should stop using the term "fake news," social media companies need to "radically self-regulate" or allow government oversight, and that people need to do a better job of verifying the trustworthiness of the content they read.

msm lost all credibility 10 years ago.....................I don't think all liberals want a war, but media is pushing them to it. They throw gas on the fire every chance they get...whether it's with outright lies or over-exaggerated claims.

The colleges and universities that are producing new reporters are the source of this issue. The mega corps that dominate the news industries then just add fuel to the fire.

LOL The daily wire another profound and fascinating fantasy based right wing site. Didn't they have an article recently on Donald Trump's honesty and I think it was a graduate of Trump University who wrote it. Why it's all a left wing conspiracy I tell you. LOL

Media CEO Urges Drastic Steps From News Orgs To Hide Left-Wing Bias

How do you hide a left wing bias? The only way to hide any bias is to balance your coverage and remain completely factual.

Fox News has had to retract or correct stories, but they do so prominently. They correct their errors in a public way.

CNN and MSNBC just briefly address an inaccuracy in their reporting and they generally do it by saying their story was basically accurate, but they got a couple of minor details wrong. Plus one needs to really dig deep or pay very close attention to notice the correction or retraction.

You didn't even bother to read Axios CEO Jim VandeHei actual artical did you ?? The link was right there. You've made a fool of yourself once again. VandeHei words copied direct from his Axios article. ............ *Media: News organizations should ban their reporters from doing anything on social media — especially Twitter — beyond sharing stories. He's the type of person the liberal media caters to. They don’t need or want balance, truth, facts and honesty.

    @hanger4

Thanks for your PM, hopefully I can clear up your misunderstanding of my post above. The Daily Wire (DW) is a right wing biased site, its writings are not about topic analysis. Its ratings on 'Media-bias factcheck' show that clearly. (See down.) Every reference in the piece is from right wing sources. If that is your only news source, your views will obviously be kinda closed. My complaint was broad and not narrowly aimed.

But let's be honest here and see what Jim VandeHei actually said and not your rightwing site's biased review. A tool in rhetoric is to pick and choose and avoid complex thought and ideas, that is what DW did, and while they have a right to their biases, I have a right to call them out. JV mentioned four items and said his answer was 'provocative'. The piece DW choose to focus on was media.

"Media: News organizations should ban their reporters from doing anything on social media — especially Twitter — beyond sharing stories. Snark, jokes and blatant opinion are showing your hand, and it always seems to be the left one. This makes it impossible to win back the skeptics."

I'm not sure I agree with this as both sides engage in these tactics, and his thoughts on the other sections are controversial too. 'Skeptics' are good in my book, it is the blind followers who are the hard case. How does one counter the constant nonsense from right wing media? Is the American public clever enough to know fact from BS? I'm not sure. Liberals suffer under the delusion that people read and know fake news when they see it. So anyway when biased right wing site reports are used as a source, be prepared I'll be back. Oh and I missed the 'drastic steps', more rhetorical BS don't you think.

    The DailyWire Factual Reporting: Mixed
World Press Freedom Rank: USA 45/180

    Right Bias
These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Right Bias sources.
