Agreed the soldiers do. But the way they are used by the politicians and others , well they are over budgeted because of all the places they are sent where they don't need to be killing and dying.
They signed on to protect our country NOT to imperialize others. But they have no choice so it's up to us to demand a common "defense" vs. a "common offence". The defense would cost a lot less and the offense is paid for with tax dollars.
Hence the basis of my comment to MV.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.
I pledge allegiance to the Constitution as written and understood by this nation's founders, and to the Republic it created, an indivisible union of sovereign States, with liberty and justice for all.

Yup, but nobody cares what's Constitutional anymore so it's good to see that you do. However, Constitutional or not taxes are still "taken at knifepoint" for whatever purpose. But yes human services programs should be handled at the state level where the state has every Constitutional right to tax you and feed "John Doe" ( unless specifically prohibited in that state's constitution) and a "Common DEFENSE" is a federal responsibility because it was not and is not practical for the states to deal separately with other countries.
In fact most if not all of the enumerated powers are default duties which the states reluctantly granted the feds for practical reasons.
Perhaps you and I have a few things in common after all? However, I believe most fiscal cons at the federal level automatically paint the states with the same brush. This is the weakness of the LP, they do not have a different and dynamic platform at the state level.
Based upon the thread tittle I wanted to see what people knew about "survival of the fittest"
So what makes up "survival of the fittest"
1) Strongest?
2) Biggest?
3) Fastest?
4) Toughest?
5) Your own answer.
I have read the Constitution but it says "Common Defense" not " become the modern day Roman Empire, minus the perks"
As for running for office above the local level. Why didn't I think of that. I completely forgot that most congressman were single shop dry cleaners kids. Silly me!
