    Survival of the Fittest.

Social Darwinists argue that Survival of the Fittest is good for Society. Other people argue that Social Darwinist approach is inhumane and unethical. Still others believe that some sort of compromise is possible. In my opinion, Social Darwinism may be appropriate in some situations, but not in others.

In a quest for great prizes, losing is the lot of everyone but the best of the best. If there is a competition, even the second best may be among the losers. If there is an election for a seat in Senate or Congress, even the second best candidate will be a loser. In a competition for a prestigious job, most are destined to fail. The vast majority of those who want to be inventors will fail. Most of those who want to become great writers will fail. Most of those who want to become great musicians or Social Media stars will fail. Many businesses will fail.

In one way or another, the vast majority of people are losers. Common people may laugh at a candidate who lost a chance to become a senator or a state governor, yet they themselves are on a much lower economic and social standing then the loser in question. Most people consider themselves exceptional, while in reality we are mediocre. For many people, even being average is an unattainable goal. In the quest for the elite social and material positions, Social Darwinism is appropriate 100%.

Social Darwinism should not have any place at the bottom of Social Ladder. Every Human Being is G-d's Creation. Every Human Being has paramount innate value. A Civilized Society ensures that no one loses food, housing, and medical care. In Scandinavia and Canada, all necessities of life are provided for everyone -- including many people who really can not work, and a few who "would not" work.

Even the worst members of Civilized Societies have Innate Value and Inalienable rights. In Scandinavia, Canada, and most of Western Europe, even prisoners have many rights. Running comfortable yet secure prisons is expensive -- it costs $148,000 per inmate per year to incarcerate a prisoner in Scandinavia and $151,000 per inmate per year to incarcerate a prisoner in Canada versus $14,780 per inmate per year in Alabama.

Unfortunately, USA is not a Civilized Nation. According to Wikipedia, 27 million people in USA have no health insurance, 43 million people in USA live in poverty, and 1.6 million people are homeless. In USA there are 44 million people with Mental Disability, including 9.8 million people with Severe Mental Disability. These people get almost no help. In 2012, US prisons and jails housed 356,268 inmates with severe mental illness.

    Beautiful building.

The money would have been better spent on those who need it.

You're ridiculous. Hearst was a philanthropist along with countless others in this country who earned money and gave tons and tons of it away. NOT because they HAD to, not because some pissant who thinks he can't get a job thinks that money would be better spent, but because he COULD and DID.

Think about that and what you can't and don't.

    Welfare autist.
