This is quite the start, you seem really confident here. What follows sure to be a true gem and factually correct.
Manifest destiny and American Exceptionalism combined with an 'almost', not quite but almost "evangelical desire" to meddle in the affairs of other nations?it is the belief in the concepts of Manifest Destiny and (later) American Exceptionalism combined with an almost evangelical desire to meddle in the affairs of other nations, 'for their own good'.
Good Lord. Let me see if I get this straight. The source of the problem....according to Dr. Who...is that "it was and to a degree America's divine mission to enlighten the world". America's "almost evangelical desire to meddle in the affairs of other nations." America's 'belief in American Exceptionalism, America's mission of manifest destiny.'It was (and to a degree, still is) considered America's divine mission to enlighten the world (while also making some American interests wealthy) and spread the fundamental principles of the Bill of Rights to misguided nations (who foolishly want to determine their own destiny), by force, if necessary.
Gadzooks Dr. Who, what was that? A "history of military interventions? Indeed, if you don't mind, while you're discussing the 'source of the problem' with such confidence, are there any European military interventions in or on the Middle East where 'it was and to a degree still is' an influence? And might there be 'divine desires' in the Middle East, jihadists or religious extremists who have 'evangelical manifest destinies' that predate even the existence of the United States? Perhaps in this real source of the problem analysis, Dr. Who, you could include the influence on the Middle East by Europe itself, get into the "it was and to a certain degree divine missions" of influences beyond America on the Middle East.....and Latin America, influences that both predate and are quite outside America's 'spread of fundamental principals to misguided nations.' Communism, fascism, and socialism for example have quite the source of the problem influence in those regions if I'm not mistaken...and I'm not. Was there....or are theere....other interests, divine missions, or evangelical desires at play in your analysis?A history of military interventions in the Middle East and Latin America has left those regions with unstable governments. Pulling in European allies to provide support in Middle Eastern interventions has left Europe holding the bag in the consequential ME refugee crisis and America as the destination of choice for Latin American refugees. Furthermore, we really don't want to discuss how a regional war turned into WWII.
I will agree American Exceptionalism does play a part in the caravan. I mean....you ain't gonna stroll through your own country, walk the length, not the width, but the length of the nation of Mexico just to come to a shiithole country like the one you're coming from. You're going through pains and risking your entire family's lives to get somewhere exceptional.
Dr. Who, I can offer some great reads. Willing to learn or would you like to continue to start forum posts with "If you really want the source of the problem", cause you sound real real confident and learned there....I'd like to make sure you are well learned so you can be that confident. That's a bold manner in which to begin a post if you're winging it, wouldn't you agree?
