Flag the Republic of Karabakh or Artsakh

Flag of the Republic of Armenia

They of course want to be joined to Armenia as Texas wanted to join the United States but politically it can't be done until recognized by Super Powers ~ if the United States recognized Artsakh we'd be smiling ~ couple American States have but the federal government hasn't ~ it would offend Turkishness ``` We'll see ~ maybe Trump will ~ but then there are Trump Towers in Azerbaijan ```

This 'country' could exist as it is born of people and land. There are no resources to exploit, so there will be no problem acquiring the land, will there? This means the land is junk rated, by Moody's standards of land evaluation. Of course, these are French speaking people, so they will obviously be of a conduit to Africa, where they could attract Africans to them, from the rest of Europe, as they also speak French. This means it will be a new start for so many, yes? Then, there is the aspect of them being able to build a new city, where there will be assets to exploit, or acquire - human capital is so underrated.

I reckon dump building materials there, let them set it up, and, they may annex with anyone they choose, or, the creditor, yes? Something fro nothing? All they need to do is form a government that supports a private sector for taxation and then job creation is a must. At the moment, they only have the social workers to use for skills, who could become skilled citizens. As for industry, that is obviously a must, but, what if there was no industrial sector? That would mean they could first of all build a diner and filling station, supplying some jobs, from a guaranteed loan justified by a need for those things there. Then, naturally, there will be needs spiralling from those two things, into a working community, that will grow off of certain things where farming poor crops would not be a problem - I looked at that pasture, terrible farming land!

Nagorno Karabakh: Forgotten people in a forgotten war

By Baroness Caroline Cox of Queensbury

An official permission is given by Caroline Cox for the publicaiton on Sumgait.Info

MAN and nature appear to conspire to inflict suffering on some people. The history of the Armenian people is beset by tragedy. They have been subjected to repeated massacres, including the genocide of over one-and-a-half million by the Turks in 1915. In 1988, they have also suffered from one of the world's most devastating earthquakes, which left 25,000 Armenians dead, and half a million homeless. Add to this toll of suffering the legacy of Stalin's cruel policies of enforced dislocation of people, when he cut off part of historic Armenia and relocated it as an isolated enclave in Azerbaijan and the brutal, bitter war which has raged in and around Nagorno Karabakh in the early years of this decade. This war has cost the lives of tens of thousands of Armenians and Azeris, and left a trail of destruction of towns and villages, with tens of thousands more people displaced from their homes.
Many people have never heard of Nagorno Karabakh; six years ago, I could not have found it on a map. But it has significance for us all. Not only is it a crucible of suffering for the Armenians and Azeris who live in and around it; it is also a territory which epitomises the type of conflict being waged in many parts of the world today: conflict stemming from a clash between the principles of self-determination and territorial integrity. This conflict is still not resolved.
A fragile cease-fire has held since April 1994, but there is a constant possibility that Azerbaijan may use the massive investment of millions of petro-dollars by international oil companies to purchase new weapons to try once again to achieve a military "final solution" to the political problem of Karabakh. If war does break out again, the Armenians of Karabakh would defend themselves again; if it appeared likely that they might become subjects of another Armenian genocide, Armenia itself could not stand passively by. If Armenia were to engage to defend fellow-Armenians in Karabakh, the conflict could broaden to involve other neighbouring powers and a regional war could develop, with repercussions spreading far beyond the countries immediately involved. For Armenia lies not only on a geological fault-line, prone to earthquakes; it also lies on a geo-political fault-line, where West meets East and where oil interests run deep. It is also one of the places where Christianity meets Islam, although it must be emphasised that the war which has been raging is not a religious conflict, but, as Andrei Sakharov put it, in 1989: `For Azerbaijan the issue of Karabakh is a matter of ambition, for the Armenians of Karabakh, it is a matter of life or death'.

European Parliament Reaffirms its Recognition of Artsakh’s Right to Self-Determination

    The European Parliament chambers

BRUSSELS—The European Parliament adopted a resolution reaffirming an earlier measure that protects the rights of the people of Artsakh to self-determination.
This new resolution. which was passed with an overwhelming majority, was a direct result of Azerbaijan’s massive efforts to undermine the peaceful resolution to the Karabakh conflict and to call into question Armenia’s developing relations, ahead of summit next week where an EU-Armenia cooperation agreement is due to be ratified.
In July, the European Parliament approved a similar resolution in which Artsakh’s right to self-determination is protected.
The current resolution is significant because it outlines provisions of the EU-Armenia partnership, which is expected to be discussed next week at a summit in Brussels.
It was no surprise then that Azerbaijan, using tactics familiar to European lawmakers, introduced various anti-Armenian amendments, which included a provision that represented Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan.
Armenia’s delegation at the European Parliament, with it’s allies on the legislative body and Armenian organizations in Europe were able to thwart Azerbaijan’s “Laundromat” tactics and threw out all the anti-Armenian amendments, reaffirming Armenia as an important partner to Armenia.
It is expected that Armenia and the EU will sign a cooperation agreement on November 25

That's great~thanks to Michigan~I missed the fact that these states had recognized Arthsakhs independence~

Michigan joins Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Louisiana, California, Georgia, and Hawaii in adopting legislation supporting the independence of Artsakh. The full text of the Michigan Senate resolution is available below.

Clue me in~why is it that Armenia has not recognized Arthsakh as independent```

Armenia wants to give chance for a negotiated settlement, plus that's what the super powers want. When Armenia finally recognizes Artsakh, it will be done as a last option and the rest can't blame us for not trying.
