It saddens me, what has happened to Paradise/Magalia, because, I remember how it was, when I first started going up there, in the 70's.... I have no idea if it was run by liberals at that time, all I know is, it was a beautiful place to visit...my in-laws scrimped and saved, to buy a piece of property and, build a house...they lived there for 30+ years and, sold out and moved to New Mexico in 2007, but, going up there on holidays and vacations, well, I really looked forward to it.

I don't like California any more than you, now, and it's my home state.
Clear cutting is not the answer. Thinning the forests and clearing underbrush is what needs to be done.

When an area is clear cut, it is generally replanted with the same type of trees which were harvested. The underbrush grows much more quickly than the trees. This causes an extreme risk for fire during the dry seasons.

But yes, environmentalists have gained control over the forestry industry and stopped these practices.

Looks like, there really isn't any other choice, right now, the fire is massive, it's going to take a very long time to bring under control.

    Yep. Thanks, environmentalists.

Jerry Brown doesn't want deforestation, or lumber companies to clear out CA forests, or controlled burns because it contributes to climate change.
Now, after years of accumulating deadfall across CA, there is a perfect combination for nature to consume all that fuel in a large, tragic, uncontrollable blaze. California is on fire.
And Jerry Brown blames climate deniers.
    ... This is Alinsky 101.

Californians are getting what they voted for. Let them burn.

California suffered worse fires at the turn of the 20th century than today. Just saying.

I believe people ought to get what they ask for. Californians are idiots by and large. So California will burn. I hope the smoke will not reach northern Alabama.
