Nonsense. She is going to make 174,000 dollars a year. What's poor about that? She's a dumbass.

I have always said we need more "regular people" in congress, that it's always high profile, money people running the show - but, that will never happen, so on one hand I do applaud that someone in their salad days got elected.

On the other hand she's a dunderhead. Millennials in general don't know $#@! about $#@! and she strikes me as a poser wannabee so I'm not taken back when you say you relate more to her, I would expect that.

Trust me, when her first paycheck rolls in and thereafter watch what she does with it. I'm guessing bankruptcy immediately after she loses office next term.

Nice virtue signaling, on her part too, but it has nothing to do with attitudes toward poor people when the socialism she advocates has not helped the poor to date.

Buckley once advocated picking people randomly out of the phone book. That and term limits might keep any politician from getting too powerful and becoming a target for rent seeking.

The left defines diversity only in terms of racial identity and sexual preferences. Diversity of thought and ideas is discouraged. In fact diversity of ideas is punished on the left. They want diversity as long as everyone is in ideological lock-step.

Actually Buckley didn’t advocate that. He said he’d rather be governed by names randomly selected from the Boston phone book vs the faculty of the Harvard law school.

Polly, that's not true. She won the nomination because the incumbent didn't run a campaign. She won the election because her district is heavily Democratic.

She is going to make 174,000 dollars a year. How does that relate to the poor? Not being able to pay rent on that income makes her stupid.

Well, to be fair the article says she's making like $26k or something now, in DC that's homeless wages.

Kind of like the NFL, when you start paying cement heads big money they'll immediately piss it away, kind of what I'm expecting here.

    I can't say I don't like that idea.

    Make it a civic duty.
