LOL you know what the drill instructor said about opinions.... But this sort of nonsense gives ammunition to the so called intellectual alt-right. She'll be labeled a leftist professor, cause you know, all professors are leftist and soon the wailing and whining will commence. The sky is falling and identity politics and social justice warriors will be brought forward for fifty lashes with a bunch of word salad which stands in for thought. Ironically there was a piece in the 'failing' NYT today by a woman who forgave these mean old men.

Thankfully, not many people--of either gender--embrace this sort of far-left silliness.
Even though not many people embrace this idea fully, the publication of such material in a respectable newspaper shifts the Overton Window.

Many people will find many men's strong response unethical, but in my opinion it shows strong rejection of bigotry. I would not dare repeat their words.

In my opinion, men's strong response to such opinions is important to prevent the gradual shift of Overton window.

Is it because you are a sissy?

Not a sissy, but I am very far from fitting into the archaic stereotype of a "tough man" who can take any abuse without being damaged.

In modern society, most traditional gender roles are far no longer applicable.

    So, a sissy. Got it.

Not that there is anything wrong with a man being a woman...

You have proven yourself to be immoral.

I used to watch Glenn Beck occasionally before he went outside of Fox's Overton I guess. lol But time changes lots of things, and being stuck in the middle may be the wrong place to be. 'Don't worry, be happy.'

"We put a false extreme at both ends,” one of the characters reveals, “to make the choices in the middle look moderate by comparison."

    https://newrepublic.com/article/1380...-window-theory

"A surefire politics of change would necessarily involve getting people in the middle — from the 30th to the 70th percentile — to see their own economic self-interest. If they vote in their own self-interest, they’ll elect people who are likely to be more aligned with people with lower incomes as well as with them. As long as people in the middle identify more with people on the top than with those on the bottom, we are doomed. The obscene amount of money flowing into the electoral process makes things harder yet." Peter Edelman NYT

In theory, this makes sense. After all, building a wall along the US-Mexico border was once considered to be outside of this window.

However, whenever an idea is utterly repugnant to most Americans--say, burning a cross in the yards of those with whom we strongly disagree--it is simply not applicable, in my opinion.

And I believe that this author's views are utterly repugnant to most people.
