Over the weekend, I caught that CNN special The Nineties; specifically the episode about '90s era TV, that is, which was kinda nostalgic for me at points. It got me thinking about my favorite TV shows from the '90s in general. I'd say my favorites from that era were The X-Files, Twin Peaks, Roseanne ('90s Roseanne, NOT the current iteration), Xena: Warrior Princess, and (my absolute favorite, the short-lived) My So-Called Life. Those would be my top-tier favorites from the '90s.
Tier-two favorite '90s TV shows for me mostly encompassed late '90s shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Sailor Moon (which was a late '90s show in the U.S. anyway), and the adorableness that was The New Addams Family, as well as The Simpsons (which was very much in its prime in the '90s). And also Star Trek: The Generation and Star Trek: Voyager!
I was only allowed to watch Roseanne at my mom's and wasn't allowed to watch The Simpsons either place, but I found ways. I was also into reruns of She-Ra, though that was actually an '80s era cartoon.
On the other hand, I never got into many of the more popular '90s shows like Seinfeld, Friends, Sex and the City, Frasier, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Everybody Loves Raymond. In fact, I still don't understand the appeal of those generally. My stepmom wanted me to be into Full House, Family Matters, Rugrats, and later Step By Step. Didn't happen. Worked for my younger sister, but not for me. My friend Joel and my cousins TRIED to get me into Saved By The Bell and Boy Meets World. Ugh. No thank you. And the irritating preppiness of 90210 was the bane of my existence.
I guess that's all for today. What '90s era shows did you like/dislike the most?

The 90's were an interesting decade for me. Without going into detail it was a decade of great contrast. My dreams were coming true aided by the blessing of being a bit naive about the world. Good times and other than childhood the best memories I have

During the '90s I transitioned from career military to civilian; I retired from the Navy in '93 and moved to Phoenix, did a little job surfing - 8 jobs in 3 years - while attending school in the evenings, then settled into my current profession. I don't remember having a lot of time to watch t.v. during that decade.
