He should have gone to court. We can't have people deciding what is lawful and what is not. I don't know what he isn't enforcing but it might be Constitutional.

Then come and talk to us
Begs the question of why the courts haven't been asked to step in? We own SCOTUS now. TheRe is no excuse any longer. Civil disobedience is as American as it can be(Tea Party Underground railroad). The problem is that it is always supposed to be met with arrests and punishment.

How is that even a little bit relevant? The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It has primacy over all other law.

Because it's local law and they're local cops, not federal.

You people go bat$#@! over federalism but when it works in your favor you're fine with it. How hypocritical is that?

It's a local law. I'm a gun guy, I don't like it but it's the law. If/when it gets challenged and overturned by higher courts it won't be law anymore. Ignoring it is irresponsible and against what these guys are sworn to do, at the local level - not the federal level.

Otherwise you're no better than Antifa. Marshall law, police state, just do whatever the $#@! you want to do.

That I have to explain this to someone posing as a rational, objective adult is why I gave up on democracy.

Too many $#@!ing idiots and renegades.

That whole post is just absurd. The United States Constitution is the supreme law of the land. It applies to the federal, state and local government. The Chief took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of his home state. If state legislators decide to pass 10,000 laws that violate those documents, he has a duty and an obligation to remain true to his oath.

You didn't have an issue with the concept of a Republic when Trump won with a minority vote of what, 3 million votes?

Again, for the sake of repeating myself, funny how that works.

And... for a bonus round, funny how suddenly some "libertarian" folks become federalists when things don't go their way.

    Sorry, you lose this badly.

    What does that even mean?

The President is elected by the Electoral College and Trump had a clear majority. Therein lies the difference between a "republic" and a "democracy". The rule of law outweighs the will of the mob.
