    Canadian Vs American Conservatism

"Ben Shapiro and former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper explain the differences between American and Canadian conservatism."

Harper says this that I found interesting, paraphrasing: Conservatism is empirical and cultural thus it differs to some degree from place to place, time to time, so Canadian conservatism differs some from American. Liberalism and socialism are universals and you must transform each society to conform to it.

Canadian conservatism tends to focus on financial/economical issues and avoids social issues. That is the impression I always had and why I think Harper actually did a good job for the most part, even if he wasn't from my party. It is also realistic economical focus, in my opinion.

My family is mostly made up of Canadian conservatives, at least at the federal level.
