Hindsight is 20/20 and armchairs make for all star quarterbacks.

Here's the funny part, nobody was talking about the fires out here (there were more than several of them, Google it) until Trump made a tweet so now suddenly everyone is an expert on everything.

Except it's not hindsight but foresight. See post 1, follow link: "Despite scientific evidence, the federal government continues spending more money on fire suppression than prescribed burns...."

1). The only link in post #1 is "please follow my blog", derp

2). If you're referring to your linked what is clearly a takedown piece from the federalist in post #2, thank you for proving my point.

Where are you at now, Florida?

I'm smack in the middle of all of this, we we're surrounded by wildfires all summer, two just miles from us. The valley we live in was for weeks thick with smoke from them.

I know and talk to people fighting them, first hand.

For the sake of repeating myself it was an unusually highly windy season that led to so many and such big fires.
Yes, the winds blew so fast and for so long they created a friction that caused the underbrush to spontaneously combust.

The fact remains that if the underbrush had been cleared the winds could have blown at hurricane levels but with nothing to burn would not have spread.

Furthermore, you are full of caca about no one saying anything about the wild fires. We have this same conversation every year and every year its the same thing, the environmentalist won't allow the underbrush to be cleared, giving even the smallest fire an opportunity to feed and grow.

There were some terrible fires in northern Arizona a few years ago, and the usual suspects made the usual noises about "misguided environmentalists" being the cause. As it turned out, however, the only individuals and groups that had brought suit in recent years against the Forest Service to prevent controlled burns were homeowners in the area, who were bothered and inconvenienced by the smoke they caused. I don't know whether that was a factor in California, to any great extent, but it happened here. After that, the partisan critics were reduced to claiming that the government had been prevented from conducting controlled burns "because they knew the environmentalists would protest if they tried".
Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.” - Robert E. Howard

The problem isn't environmentalists or homeowners or some other special interest but the incompetent and corrupt government. Not sure how you missed that point.
