    Climate Change

Is there or isnt there? I dont have a clue and neither does anyone else on this forum.

For discussion sake lets say there is climate change and its all the democrats say it is.

The USA isnt the sole cause of climate change if there is such a thing. For us to jump through hoops and have other industrial countries like China Russia and others do nothing at tremendous cost to us is something I m not willing to do, because unless EVERYONE does it it wont do squat.

Those who are frantic over climate change want us all to drastically alter our lives go to any expense to do what they believe will save the planet.

    Nah Ill pass on that

Of course, you have a clue. You know the climate changes. We all do.

    That is not the issue.

Yep, the only constant in climate is change. Guess how many doomsayers, backed by consensus science, have been right?
When Donald Trump said to protest “peacefully”, he meant violence.

When he told protesters to “go home”, he meant stay for an insurrection.

And when he told Brad Raffensperger to implement “whatever the correct legal remedy is”, he meant fraud.

    War is peace.

    Freedom is slavery.

    Ignorance is strength.

The earth’s climate is and always has been cyclical. It changes with the seasons year to year.

I would side with man is increasing climate change. You can't exist in an environment without affecting it. As we increase population size, with many of us consuming more and more energy, alone that has to have increase changes. That's just plain simply logic.

It's like natural business cycles when the government interferes and increases the high booms and low busts. It just makes things worse.

Now I do question how much we affect the climate, or what feedback effect that will have on us, nor am I sure we can effectively change it, certainly not politically, as the government itself already has the largest effect on climate, so perhaps economically as entrepreneurs find salable ways to help us moderate our affect on it and/or help us adapt to it.

On a scale from 1 to 10, denier to alarmist, I'd put myself about at a 7.

I also think man effects climate change. I just wonder why the egg-heads at the UN panels don't offer free market solutions to fix their problems.

(I think the market is already reacting and by the end of the century this one issue will be moot.)

    Because they're flat out political.

Over the last week or so I've looked into it a bit and am amazed at how much the market, that is, private industry is working on this.

Absolutely. It's unavoidable, on a depreciating scale.

Of course there is climate change. The climate is always changing. The real question is whether or not human CO2 emissions are causing catastrophic global warming. And the answer to that question is almost certainly no. Obviously, human CO2 emissions are contributing to SOME warming of the planet. That is scientific fact. But there is very little evidence to suggest this warming will produce a climate catastrophe. If anything, some warming will benefit humanity as it has done in the past. Longer growing seasons, milder winters, new shipping lanes, etc. But that doesn't mean we can't try to mitigate the affects of human CO2 emissions. One scientist, Freeman Dyson, has suggested a campaign to plant more trees and to genetically engineer trees so that more human CO2 emissions are taken out of the atmosphere. Personally, I think that's the most sensible and realistic plan anyone has put forward so far. There is almost no downside to planting more trees. And we KNOW for a fact that planting more trees will help reduce levels of atmospheric CO2. Unfortunately, the warmist cult will not accept any solution that doesn't involve raising taxes and growing government, which has been their real motive all along.

    :-)

At any moment, the sun emits about 3.86 x 1026 watts of energy. So add 24 zeros to the end of that number, and you'll get an idea of how unimaginably large an amount of energy that is! Most of that energy goes off into space, but about 1.74 x 1017watts strikes the earth."
We cannot come even close to what the Sun does all by itself.
