Well Jason and Trey claimed it was because of Sessions, the way he treated them when he came into office. Then they said family. Flake was never an R and I doubt Mitt will be either. You know a lot of these are bought and paid for by special interest groups anyway.

That is to much reality for leftists to handle. Especially this new breed of leftists. Lets just get to the Civil War so we can correct the mistake from last time.

Fair enough. But it would be interesting to see how many are just cashing in

LMAO.....you missed a lot. Afterall it is history and we know that reading comprehension problem starts in 4th grade and that public education.

...Congressional records show that Democrats were opposed to passing the following laws that were introduced by Republicans to achieve civil rights for African Americans:

    Civil Rights Act 1866
    Reconstruction Act of 1867
Freedman Bureau Extension Act of 1866
    Enforcement Act of 1870
    Force Act of 1871
Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871
    Civil Rights Act of 1875
    Civil Rights Act of 1957
    Civil Rights Act of 1960

And during the 60's many Democrats fought hard to defeat the

    1964 Civil Rights Act
    1965 Voting Rights Acts
    1972 Equal Employment Opportunity Act...

    Why Are Members Leaving Congress?

Can see a number of reasons to explain the exodus.

What once may have been a semi-glamorous/powerful position is now viewed more much more negatively. The actual life of a House member is spent heavily on fundraising...which is uglier now and wasn't much fun to begin with.

Social media allows for constant derision/attack/insults to both the House member and their families. All in real-time (Bonus!!)

Those altruistic politicians who initially thought "they could make a difference" are finding out that they were for the most part wrong. You either float with the whims/desires of of the party or you are ignored/discarded.

Maybe the Democrats will morph into thinking humans and stop stealing workers money.

I think most of the Republicans that retired saw the writing on the wall. Trump and his voters are likely to take over the party. There is no future for the average RINO.

Think there is some truth to what you say here. At least for the short term.

Personally do not consider that a good thing.

I believe those who are leaving are just fed up with the hyper partisanship which is the major obstacle to fulfilling campaign promises.

And yes, it started many years ago. If someone places all the blame on Trump, they are nothing but a partisan hack them self.
