I was just talking to my dad today actually, after that $#@!ty loss against LA, being a Steeler fan is pretty easy to take for granted. Hell, how many superbowls have we won? Competitive every year? Imaging being a stains fan. This loss against LA, it's one in what, every year or two? For Browns fans it's pretty much most of the season when they're actually in the game and not being blown out.

So yeah, I get why some folks hate the Steelers.

It's not a bad feeling too fwiw

The Steelers are the best run most well liked franchise in the NFL. They are infact the NFL's flagship franchise.

    Go Steelers

Did you notice they are the only team that has an emoticon dedicated to them on this site?

Steelers are a classic team. In fact, perhaps the classic team.

The flagship franchise would be one of the oldest franchises. The Pittsburg Steelers is one of the most unlikable franchises in the NFL.

Thanks for the input, Cliff but maybe you should do some research first before sticking your foot in your mouth.

But that comes naturally for you to the point that you don't identify with it.

I'm surprised they're 8th actually. The home crowd is one of the worst in the leagues, ask @DGUtley , only lawyers and clients go to those games since it's a hot ticket for non-fans but the travel fans is unmatched IMO.

The NFL's flagship franchise would be either the Packers, Bears or Giants.

    So here's a story.

I did an interim CFO gig in Alabama the summer of the Gulf oil spill. Family drove down for the summer, we spent time on the beach and all of that. My next gig was in Yuma, AZ toward the tail end of the summer.

I googled Steelers bars since I'd be driving over to Yuma and thought I'd catch a game on the way. There was one in El Paso so I booked a room at a $#@!ty Howard Johnson's that Sunday and planned on watching the game there. The bar was the King's X or something like that. Had a goofy Texas rule that you couldn't be at the bar drinking before noon unless you had food in front of you so they sold this crappy ass pizza by the slice for a quarter, just so you'd not break the law. Everyone at the bar had a slice in front of them lol

So I watched the game, got drunk and after the game I told the owner I was originally from Pittsburgh. I got a standing ovation from everyone there since I was the first local from Pittsburgh to visit the establishment.

I went on to Yuma for 6 months and yeah, there was a Steeler bar there too, an old wartime airbase.

Tell me again about teams and dedication?

If one is to judge a franchise's worth on how wide and deep of a fan base the team has, it would be the Packers or Cowboys. Those teams have fans everywhere. Even overseas.
