They’re Coming After Your Bacon and Orrin Hatch is Having None of It.....

Is the PC crowd striking again.

The term "bringing home the bacon" is under attack. This time, it isn't raging feminists arguing the phrase emboldens the patriarchy. Instead the popular saying, along with other delicious meat references, is at risk of going extinct due to a growing vegan population. That's according to an article in The Independent, which resides across the pond in the UK (bolding is mine).

You may think phrases like “bringing home the bacon” and “putting all your eggs in one basket” are harmless quirks of the English language, but they could be offending vegans and vegetarians, with one academic claiming they might end up being avoided altogether as a result.

As research shows more people are removing animal products from their diets than ever before, Shareena Hamzah of Swansea University says idioms involving animal products could be rendered obsolete
because they are out of touch with the zeitgeist.

Speaking of, back in the U.S. this "academic" garbage of "filtering through consciousness" seems to be going nowhere. Utah Republican Senator Orrin Hatch is having none of it.....snip~

They’re going to take the rose by the thorns on this one though.

It seems there's a myth going around that animal protein makes you stronger than vegetable protein. In Sri Lanka they use elephants in the logging industry to lift heavy logs. Do elephants eat animal protein?

Guess who doesn't eat meat. James Golden. He's Rush Limbaugh's call screener, producer and engineer. They've been working together ever since I can remember and I have been listening to Rush, on and off, for at least 25 years (yes, before 2001). Rush refers to him as Bo Snerdley on the show.

Not all vegans and vegetarians are strict environmentalists or socialists, some may be conservative Republicans.

    Pigs, cows, chickens.

All have guaranteed their survival as a species because they taste good.

    Vegans are not a threat.

Herbivores have different biology which allows them to build muscle out of different base materials.

Omnivores and carnivores? Not so much.

Most vegans and a lot of vegetarians a deficient in some vitamins and minerals. They tend to be underweight and frail.
