Gotta love who knows more about scripture arguments...
Which kinda proves a point, the religious tend to be robotic, focusing on memorizing rather than comprehending.
...or was that voters, I get them mixed up.

" I'm old-fashioned. I like two sexes! And another thing, all of a sudden I don't like being married to what is known as a 'new woman'. I want a wife, not a competitor. Competitor! Competitor!" - Spencer Tracy in 'Adam's Rib' (1949)
Art thou every retard among us related to thine uncle or mistress by way of moral or illegitimate rendezvous? Thus, we are one side of the other's coin by luck or pluck. - Jimmyz
This is not a law laid out in the bible. But if you read Matthew Mark Luke and John. And you take the words literally and if you were a believer you may come to this same devotion. Consider Matthew 22:37 https://biblehub.com/matthew/22-37.htm Consider Luke 10:27https://biblehub.com/luke/10-27.htm
This type of devotion to God is not really taught to us. It is a rarity. It is just something that happens to some people, some are born like this, like some of the saints for example they just loved the lord so much even as small children. No one could stop them. Some children are born and walk over to a piano at age 3 and play Mozart, how were they born like that we wonder? But we don't know.
In fact for a long time regular people were not even allowed to read the bible for themselves and it was preached and taught to them by the preachers. Also people who were later declared saints in most cases were not approved of by the church in any way, they didn't want people to have direct communion with god they wanted you to go through a third party. Saints usually only got declared saints many years later by the requests of the people who loved them. But the church disapproved because they didn't want people to have direct communion. But that is not what the bible teaches either. Religion is a tool to keep people in check, but they don't want us to understand it and practice it literally. They are more loose now, but I am speaking of the past.
But saints cant help it that they have a love for God. It is something that is powerful. Jesus himself said we are the temple, why would he say that if it were not true? Why do most Christians who say their religion is Christ based, not believe the words of Christ? Why is there only 4 books in the bible of his words, when the entire religion is supposed to be based on him?
Love the lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength https://www.biblica.com/bible/niv/mark/12/. If one devotes themselves to that for life, what is the problem with it? I think this stems from the saints of the past. Like my favorite saint St Catherine of Sienna. She was said to have married Christ. But this is purely symbolic. It is a symbol of a deep devotion that one has to the Holy Spirit.
One has a deep communion with the Holy Spirit and they spend every waking moment in that state in devotion to the most high. They cast aside earthly pleasures in trade for those of heaven. Marriage is a symbol that you have tied your life to someone and will keep vows. When a person symbolically marries Christ they are giving their entire selves to the Holy Spirit and taking the highest vows. This act is just symbolic. It also lets others know that you are not going to partake in worldly pleasures and your path is set.
Also think of Mark 12:42 https://biblehub.com/mark/12-42.htm Jesus and his disciple were sitting watching people put donations and many rich people came and put large amounts of money and a poor widow came and put two cents into the offering, He said truly I tell you this woman had put more than all the others in the treasury. There is a teaching here. It is because she gave all she had. And, this is nothing less than complete devotion loving the Lord your God with all your heart all your mind and all your strength.
The Lord also said it is far easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle that for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.https://biblehub.com/mark/10-25.htm It is because if your are caught up in worldly desires you will not know the holy spirit. It is the same where he said no one can serve two masters for you will love one and hate the other. https://www.biblehub.com/matthew/6-24.htm This is simply If you are caught in worldly desires you will not even think of the kingdom. Your self will be distracted and occupied. But if you were fully devoted to the kingdom and to the holy spirit. You would be enveloped in that day and night. He said the kingdom of heaven is at hand https://biblehub.com/matthew/3-2.htm
This devotion is like the parable of the mustard seed, it is the smallest of all seeds, but once planted it become the largest of all the plants in the garden, and all the birds can come and live in its branches. https://biblehub.com/mark/4-31.htm There is a deep meaning here. If we give partial devotion we will never understand what he was saying here. But if we give full devotion that mustard seed will surely bloom, and you will understand directly what he was saying.
Keep in mind God and Jesus are not two separate things, https://biblehub.com/john/17-21.htm The devotion to Jesus is none other than devotion to God. They are one in the same.
If a symbol was developed down the line of marriage to Christ, I don't see how that defies scripture. Rather if you take the words of Christ literally, and really understand what he was trying to convey, you will see those who give their all to the most high, are truly following the teachings of Christ. I normally don't like to talk religion because it is widely disagreed on, and I feel we all have the right to believe as we wish as religion is deeply personal. but I will state this, since I feel it has some value. Those are just my thoughts.

We are all brothers and sisters in humanity. We are all made from the same dust of stars. We cannot be separated because all life is interconnected.
I want to add one more thing. The life of a saint or a devoted practitioner. Has more to do with following the heart than following scripture. Unless a person puts the scripture into practice the words are dead. They are just words. But for those who put those words into action, those words are then living. There is no set rule for following doctrine, when you are following your heart, as that person will become the living embodiment of all the written scriptures in existence.

i don't argue scripture. I correct others for what they get wrong. I call them all verse and and a word short.
I almost always have to google the place in the bible but I know what I'm saying. I also place the scripture in it's meaning to the times, the history of the time and who God is speaking to.
I may not always get it totally right and I accept corrections when called on it. But just tossing out some irrelevant verses doesn't impress me/
