WASHINGTON — John F. Kelly, the retired Marine general tapped as chief of staff by President Trump last year to bring order to his chaotic White House, will leave the job by the end of the year, the latest departure from the president’s inner circle after a bruising midterm election for his party.
Mr. Trump, who made the announcement to reporters on the White House lawn before departing for the Army-Navy football game in Philadelphia on Saturday, said that he would name a replacement for Mr. Kelly, perhaps on an interim basis, in the next day or two.

Its also kind of hilarious that some people get indignant when they say just as bad if not worse, not trying to excuse what was said

I think that it has come to the point where people simply feel sorry for anyone who signs on for these positions and are not the least bit surprised when they don't last. It makes me think of families who can't keep a nanny because their children are unmanageable.

I can't feel sorry for anyone who knows that by taking a Trump appointment will either have to do his bidding or be vilified for not having done so.

Either way, the rest of their lives will be a reflection of their service to him and not the people.
