This is interesting and while I disagree in part, it covers what religion has become in America.

If you do not prescribe to a particular practice of faith, you might be an extremist.
IF you trust to sex as worship, you might be a sex cultist

An increasing number of people are filling the need for community, purpose and even ritual by affiliating with political parties and causes. That isn't an attack on Religion - it's an objective and perfectly valid commentary on current trends in American society. It has long been recognized - and widely talked about, particularly by the Right - that Hollywood, television, the entertainment industry and the cult of celebrity generally have taken the place of Religion in the lives of many. Is talking about that an "assault", too?

Some members see that certain other members have begun a thread and they immediately go on the attack - usually without bothering to click on the link or investigate the topic.

I have a different viewpoint and I will be assailed for it im sure. I through observation and life experience believe the anti religion atheism had alot to do with homosexuality, they needed religion diminished to be accepted.

Many have denied this on the forum but I very strongly disagree, the ACLU although calmed down now because they mostly reached their goal was on a decades long crusade to diminsh organized religion. They were suing everyone over 10 yrs, especially schools. They sued over nativity scenes and Christmas trees and a variety of lawsuits. Thats apparently been conveniently forgotten by many.

The myth that the ACLU is in any way anti-Christian is unfortunate. I split with that organization a decade ago over other issues, but when it comes to defending the Constitutional rights of Christians, no one does it better or more consistently.
