    Looming government shut-down

It's that time of year again. The congress and administration will be negotiation a continuing resolution which will keep our bloated and overbearing government in full operations for a few more months.

It looks like we will have yet another so called Governmemt shut-down. Other than a coulple of national parks or monuments, I'm not quite sure what actually shuts down, but that's another issue.

Lets say the shut down does actually happen. What hardships do you expect to experience personally? Do you expect to survive if it lasts more than a few days? How did you survive that last ten or twelve shut-downs? Did any of the past shut-downs have a negative impact upon your life?

If this is such an issue, when will people ever demand that we quit funding government through the Continuing Resolution process?

If you are of the liberal persuasion, is this a big deal? If it is, why?

Congress will pass appropriations bills to fully fund for the fiscal year all agencies except DHS. DHS may get shut down or they may get another short term continuing resolution. That is most likely the outcome.

With all the essential personnel who already have holiday leave, a shutdown would upset a lot of plans.

We all complain that the government is bloated but when an opportunity comes around to end that bloat we all claim we need those agencies.

As Pogo once said, We have met the enemy and he is us.

I think they screw stuff up less when they are "shut down"

It costs a lot of money to stop work on open contracts and pay contractor's damages associated with it.

Elected officials never shut down their operation. They consider themselves "essential personnel".

I'd still like to hear from someone who believes that they had to endure a personal hardship because of one of the past government shut downs?

But it's not their money so they don't care

A vindictive President Barack Hussein O did that. The closed monuments were open air. It took an effort to "close" them.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.
