This whole circus is a little confusing.

The GOP still controls both houses of Congress.

Republicans have the power to include in the funding bill the border monies that Trump is requesting. It seems the only ones who could "shutdown the government" are the Democrats. By rejecting the legislation under the 60-vote filibuster threshold.


What am i missing here....???

Nothing. It's a pissing match between Trump and Pelosi/Shumer.

Yea, if they get laid off they can file. The problem is that there is a top limit. No one is going to be able to live on unemployment at their rate of pay. In DC the highest unemployment is $425. In Md. it is $430, In Va, it's $378. No, they are going to be hurt.

I wonder if they get it if they are required to work under the condition of being paid later?

They can file without being laid off, but once they get back pay, they have to pay back the assistance money. Pain in the ass.

There are not enough votes in the senate for the wall- that means some repubs are against it.
