    More Pit Bull attacks

I don't know why some people seem to insist that a Pit Bull is no more aggressive than any other breed of dog. What's it going to take for it to sink in on some people?

Fifteen elementary school-age children were attacked by a dog at an Oklahoma playground this week, animal welfare officials said.
The dog, described as an un-neutered male pit bull mix, bit several third- and fourth-graders at Fillmore Elementary School just before 1 p.m. Monday, officials told KJRH. At least 12 of them were taken to a local hospital.

A brutal pit bull attack that left a Waverly Hall woman disfigured and her Siberian Husky dead has drawn a rising tide of outrage.
Residents say they long have complained about the loose pit bulls, but Talbot County authorities failed to act.

You can find several incidents on a regular basis about a Put Bull attacking and mauling people and other animals. I think it's extremely irresponsible to own one of these dogs. Even more irresponsible to allow it to run free.

NEW PORT RICHEY — Two people were hospitalized after they were attacked by a large pit bull terrier on Thursday morning, according to Pasco County Fire Rescue.
The man and woman were attacked in the 4300 block of Otter Way, officials said. Both were taken to a local hospital. The man suffered serious injuries while his girlfriend suffered minor injuries.

It's irresponsible to let any dog just run free.

However a roaming black lab or golden retriever isn’t noted for attacking people and other animals on a regular basis.

Pit Bulls were bred to be aggressive. Training won't remove that trait. But then other dogs were also bread to be aggressive.

If you want a dog go to the pound and get a rescue animal. Pure breeds all have their particular health issue anyway- their family tree is really more like a telephone pole. And when you pay too much for a pure bred, a rescue dog is tossed into a crematorium.

There are people attacked and kids killed by pits all the time in florida, they dont have to be running free to be a threat, house pets bred to be nice dogs and are wonderful pits, suddenly turn on their owners. Thats why animal shelters are full of pits and pit mixs.
