The numbers on the scary flu epidemic are highly exaggerated. Yes, that is my opinion.
There is no flu epidemic. Because the other 60% are smart enough to get vaccinated Pete. You being in that 60% this year, you know that. Any children you may have or are responsible for, you've made sure they've received theirs as well. Any elderly who you care for, the exact same.

How many killed by the Spanish Flu Pete, before we had vaccinations? That an H1N1 flu.

Of course. There's a conspiracy contingent for everything.

And if there's not, there are always the accusers.

It actually spread to WWI battlefields rather than starting there. It is said to have come from China. Then to the US northeast. Then to European battlefields....where believe it or not.....they had hospital facilities, they had medical personnel, you'd think that flu would be able to wipe the European continent out seeing as it was a sea of filth and war at the time.

Today.....flu viruses could travel from any continent and I would think, fairly fast. Should your doctor advise you get the vaccination.....it's probably not a stretch that he or she is correct. Get the shot. Read what it is, it isn't hard. @Ethereal quite incorrect, it's not addictive. Your body creates antibodies as a result of this vaccine and may aren't grown in hens eggs any longer.

Some people should not get the flu shot. The checklist on the request form at CVS seems to cover it.

Healthcare is a very big business. People living with illness is extremely profitable. The state protects the industry for civil and criminal charges. Tread carefully.

I haven’t had a flu shot since I retired from the Army. Coincidently, I haven’t had the flu since the last time I got a flu shot.

To be fair even without vaccine the flu would not be that deadly due to advances in modern medicine . Still, I'd prefer not to have it, although the vaccination is not a 100% bet that you will not get some version of the flu.

The virus changed every year, The CDC has to make a studied guess as to which one is going to come around. Last year they were totally wrong. Still, the shot provides some protection. That's good enough for me.

I have never had the flu. With my heart weaker now, I don't care to play dice with my life. I'll leave that to others.
