    But why?

Nearly two weeks earlier, a Washington Post columnist had quoted “a senior government official” as saying that Flynn had had repeated telephone contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak on the same day that then-President Barack Obama announced an escalation of US sanctions against Russia in retaliation for Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The Logan Act prohibits private individuals from engaging in policy negotiations with foreign countries.

But it has never been enforced.

The agents wanted to talk to Flynn about his contacts with Russia during the final month of the Obama administration.

    Flynn agreed to talk.

What Flynn didn’t know is that the two agents had already reviewed transcripts of the conversations he had with Mr. Kislyak, according to court documents, and were testing Flynn to see how much he would reveal, and whether he would be truthful.

“If Flynn said he did not remember something [the agents] knew he said, they would use the exact words Flynn used ... to try to refresh his recollection,” a recently released FBI memo says.

“If Flynn still would not confirm what he said ... they would not confront him or talk him through it.”

Following the interview, there were at least two areas of concern: In response to whether he had asked Russia to use its power on the United Nations Security Council to delay or defeat a resolution critical of Israeli settlements, Flynn claimed this was not discussed.

    It was.

And when the agents asked whether Flynn had asked Russia not to retaliate against the US after Mr. Obama imposed new sanctions, Flynn falsely claimed that this, too, was not discussed.
Except the FBI said they didn’t believe he lied or deceived them.

No, Sullivan is most certainly NOT entitled to accuse Flynn of treason in open court. Which is why the idiot attempted to walk back his utterly irresponsible and unprofessional comments. When Vox dresses a liberal judge down for those comments, you know you have $#@!ed up royally.

Michael Flynn’s judge suggested he might be guilty of treason. He’s not.

Are you capable of comprehending that the problem Judge Sullivan has with Mueller is why is Mueller recommending leniency for the top National Security Adviser who quite possibly committed high-treason at the behest of a U.S. President ?

And this is the reason sentencing was delayed with Flynn having to surrender his passport and cannot leave over 50 miles from the courthouse until the judge gets to the bottom of it ?

Evidently a big enough crime that the judge ignored the deal of no jail time from both sides, and told Flynn that he better reconsider working with Mueller for three more months, because he was sending him to prison if he chose not to today.

Yea, when it comes to believing a federal judge or an anonymous hack on the internet, Judge Sullivan wins on just sheer common sense.

Flynn was going to prison today, but the judge told him to reconsider helping Mueller if he wanted no jail time.
