To have a man like Trump with absolutely zero experience in the military, no geopolitical international knowledge, armed solely with skills for cheating, lying and stealing.... ignore his advice and challenge his knowledge, is just fool-hearty and even worse, reckless with our national security.

Only the President and the Secretary of Defense have the authority to direct our vast military forces. Given the fact that General Mattis has resigned, who takes that job now? Who steps in and takes that role at the Pentagon? There's 2.1 million active guard and reserve deployed globally and right now they're waking up and wondering 'who's at the helm?' The question is, are Trump, Jared and Ivanka collectively in charge of our military mite now? If there's anyone in this country, or in the world for that matter, that isn't deeply concerned with our national security being jeopardized, then they're not understanding how impactful the resignation of Jim Mattis is
Let's start with -you are only upset because it's Trump. The proof is that Obama had no military of foreign policy experience. Your side didn't say a word about him.

We have many qualified people. Mattis isn't God. He did the job Trump wanted done. Now, someone else will do it. The Sec of Defense is usually not a military man. I don't think it should ever be.

The military knows who is in charge. The President is always in charge.

The Mattis resignation has no real impact. No General is that important.

The military is run by civilians. They carry out the policy that civilians decide...as it should be.

    You are TDS stage 4.

The search feature won't let me go back far enough but yeah, I supported Mattis's appointment 100% when Trump first nominated him and still feel like he was the best choice.

Well. I found this. It appears that you didn't even know who he was.
