Greed can certainly serve to tamp down those parts of the brain that govern rational thinking. I have seen people lose good paying jobs just to take a chance on getting some "free" money, only to end up losing everything they own, including their livelihood and reputation. It can probably be classified as an extreme gambling impulse, I suppose, with someone putting pretty much their entire life and future on the table.
Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.” - Robert E. Howard

"Only a rank degenerate would drive 1,500 miles across Texas and not eat a chicken fried steak." - Larry McMurtry

    When will embezzlers learn?

As long as people have access to large sums of other people's money, there will always be those who will devise schemes to steal that money.

Do you include your current president in your accurate account of criminality?

It's rather a poor response that I can see being used more and more on this forum.
Are you advocating for a forum name change?

TDD is the only expiation for someone taking a thread about embezzling money from an obscure theme park in Idaho and turning it into another Trump rant.

    Isn't free speech wonderful.
I learn such a lot from a country that uses it with such abandon.

Yes, it's a human weakness. Not in all, but in many.
