A lot of people assume that keeping guns away from the "mentally ill" would be good. The problem is that "mentally ill" is or can be (and will be) politically defined, sooner or later, as for example, anyone who opposes Democrats or gun control is mentally ill.

It's kind of alarming and nobody seems to be making much of a fuss about it.

... we have a mainstream media intentionally not reporting on the psychiatric drugs aspect behind most of the mass shootings, because many of the media outlets’ corporate sponsors include the pharmaceutical companies. And then we have the government criminals whose main goal with gun control is to disarm the civilian population to make them vulnerable and disable the civilians’ means of protecting their lives and liberty.

I have been looking at modern crossbows.

Been at the archery range with a long bow. If you study the making of the weapon system you need no modernity nor special skills to own and deploy it. Crossbows are great and I look forward to owning and training with them.
