A few years ago, at the Birds of Prey show at our local Renaissance Faire, a big hawk of some kind was being stubborn, hanging out in some trees instead of returning to the falconer as he was supposed to. Finally the bird took to the air and came swooping down toward its trainer and, deliberately or not, parted my hair with its claws at high speed. No damage done, but it was strangely thrilling.

He was probably hoping for a treat - some fish or a rodent.

That is the ND highlight. 4 Best teams, sure. Ohio State would beat both Clemson and Satan.

There's a thing somewhere, don't remember where, Texas maybe but when the cattle give birth and drop placentas eagles swoop in and feast.

One of those stupid things I'd like to see at some point.

I was deployed up to Adak, AK in the late '70s, and they had many bald eagles there. It was a little disenchanting, if that's the right word, to see them hanging around the dumpsters and digging in the garbage for food.

Right, I think they're like bears. Black bears, opportunists basically.

When I was in PA we used to chase them out of dumpsters with out ATV's. Can't tell you how many times I've had them in my rubbish cans.
