Just wondering what the background and history is.
Hi Trish. I don't think it is an issue. If you want to disagree, state your opinion. I doesn't really cost you anything unless you are unhealthily invested in forum chatter.

For me it is delightful entertainment.
When Donald Trump said to protest “peacefully”, he meant violence.

When he told protesters to “go home”, he meant stay for an insurrection.

And when he told Brad Raffensperger to implement “whatever the correct legal remedy is”, he meant fraud.

    War is peace.

    Freedom is slavery.

    Ignorance is strength.

Make sense? I have a weird way of thinking so don't feel bad if you still feel confused. hahahahaha
Self-control here is a problem for me. I sometimes apologize here and sometimes by PM for what I say.

Extending you a very Happy New Year!
Happy new year to you too Trish.

I know that you are a really good person. But, please feel free to disagree with me anytime. You are different, I am sure you wouldn't be trying to say you disagree, so that you can offend someone, or to start a fight. I am sure if you disagreed you would do so tastefully. I bet that it would result in productive dialogue. We used to have a lot more of that here in the forum, and I miss it a lot.

If you ever do disagree with me, I will do my best to not take offense, as I know you are a very well meaning person. I think that most people here know that about you. You are an appreciated person here in this forum. You are one of the people who make this forum a better place.

Yes, I see your point. How about updating the emojis. The ones available are so small that it's not worth using them. Maybe that could be a reasonable compromise?
I think that is the ticket. Just make it larger than the current ones. It would be a lot simpler than trying to incorporate some "Like/Thanks" thing that would be tracked. You couldn't really abuse it and it would just be a comment like a smiley.

If you really want to do that, you can search the internet and copy one that you can save and use at will. It's slightly more effort than having one to choose from, although I find searching the emoji list is frustrating because they don't stay put, nor are they in alphabetical order and probably keeping favorites on hand in a document would be faster.

First, the negative reps were abused by a very few so some members ended up with scores below zero. So that was turned off. Then a few members abused the positive reps so that those few ended up with extraordinary scores. So that was turned off as well and their scores reduced.

That sounds about right. However, the software allows for negative thanks. I believe that the subject has come up before and it was rejected.
