I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I'm here if you need an ear. As far as me, I'm fine. Life is life and we either go with the flow or watch as it passes us by.

I don't know how much I want to share here in public. People always just use things I disclose about my personal life to hurt me. You know, for example I've revealed that I struggle with anxiety and depression and people use that knowledge to be all "Off your medication today, I see" followed by a pic of pill box when they disagree with me about something because it's just hilarious that I require antidepressants. Shouldn't have ever said anything, but it's way too late for that now. I feel like if I say very much about my mom, people will just use that knowledge to perhaps make fun of her for suffering as a way of getting to me emotionally because that's the kind of community this is. I don't think that's in her best interests or mine.

Anyway, with regard to that last part, I think you're right. The experts all say that that's the way to lead a longer, happier life. That's doubtless a major part of my problem: I spend so much of my life trying to change things instead of just accepting things and going along.

On GAB I received a coordinated beatdown from every NAZI and anti-Semite in terms of down rankings. It was awesome to watch. Then one of then sneeringly commented that I was not to be believed based on my score. Interestingly I have accumulated followers anyway. I continue to gently correct (you do believe me, right?) the anti-Semites, racists, and Nazis. Since I am using my real name there one even threatened to hunt me down and attack me. I confirmed he had the right guy and invited him to come.

He decided attacking me might not be worth his trouble. While some might have you believe I waddle around in adult diapers and ride around on my (what did Safety call it?) Hoveround, I am well trained with weapons, go armed and am willing to shoot as necessary.

That exchange brought in at least ten followers.

I think we can handle a frowning face.

I just got a beat-down from D and Helena. It had no effect on what I will do. I did notice that CO's poll got me three votes. I can't say it was because of what I said. It could have been a coincidence.

A frowning face is fine. So is a finger.

Is there a reason this forum doesn't offer a "thumbs down" option for disagreeing with a comment? For me, sometimes I find it's best not to respond to a poster because I don't want to say something hurtful but I also disagree vehemently with the comment and I want to express that disagreement.

Why would you need a thumbs down feature when you can just further a discussion by expressing your disagreement in words?

If you can't disagree without being hurtful, rude or nasty that's something you need to work on.

I feel that what it actually says is that this is a right wing message board overflowing with rich men (the definition of "rich" for our purposed here is enjoying an annual household income of more than $70,000 a year; that's my definition anyway) twice my age who voted for Trump and still don't regret it.

There are spaces online where I'm not despised, believe it or not. This just isn't among them.

You could always say that "we agree to disagree"; as to your original question, not sure why "thumbs down" isn't offered.
